Wedding Photography for Jan & Francis’s in Vancouver
The fact that Jan and Francis’s wedding was purely about their love for each other.
Jan and Francis Wedding
When you think of a wedding most people typically think of an extravagant event involving expensive food, drinks, dancing, and decoration. At the end of the day all that other stuff is just fluff and what really matters is that two people found each other and stood in front of witnesses giving a promise to love each other.
Their children made their wedding extravagant with pure love and intention. They got ready at The Delta Hotel by Marriot in Vancouver. Their wedding morning was a real an early one for Jan and her bridal party getting up at 3am to start hair and make-up. A nap was definitely a necessity.
Jan and Francis got ready right next to each other while their boys played in between rooms. They decided they wanted to do a first look so they could be more relaxed and enjoy their ceremony so the infamous gold doors right by the hotel made the perfect spot.
We took a few minutes to get some photos in the down town Vancouver area before making our way over to Queen Elizabeth Park.
"How many frames do we need to remember someone or someplace? Most people only really need one, so I divide the day into sections: Getting ready, the ceremony, etc., and I try to create one image which inspires me for every section, which just defines that moment." — Fer Juaristi
They picked a spot and their family and friends all gathered. The commissioner arrived and the two of them shared their heartfelt vows and were married! After a bit of a break, we made our way to the Rio restaurant in Kitsilano for a traditional Brazilian meal.
Jan and Francis’s wedding is a true testament proving that your wedding doesn’t need to be a big show in order for it to feel like a wedding.
