Mission BC Wedding| Karen and Linden
Karen and Linden chose to get married close to home at the Best Western Hotel in Mission
Karen and Linden are truly in love with each other. You can feel it in the air like an aura around them when they are with each other. Even though they didn't meet in a fairy tale romcom style story but by a dating app, you wouldn't know if they didn't tell you.
They chose to get married close to home at the Best Western Hotel in Mission. We had a delightful bright sunny day with painted blue skies. When we arrived at Karen's where she was getting ready it was peaceful and calm. Karen's mom was making sure things were running smoothly so Karen could really relax while getting her hair and make up done. It was just Karen her mom and Karen's niece who was her maid of honour. Meanwhile Linden had everything under control at the hotel where he was making sure the ceremony and reception space were ready for their guests. Linden got himself ready at the hotel.
The ceremony was short and sweet but their personal vows were even sweeter. While we dried our tears Karen and Linden chose to have their Mom's sign the wedding registry. After the ceremony we made our way to Heritage Park for family photos and their portraits. There happened to be an Irish Wolfhound gathering happening at the park. There were so many giant dogs around. We tried to stick to the shade since it was so sunny and hot. There was a group of people playing different string instruments together giving us a fairytale atmosphere in the park.
Karen and I pre planned a surprise for Linden. For their engagement session we wanted to include their motorcycle since it is something they enjoy doing together, but unfortunately Mother Nature wouldn't agree with us. We made up an excuse to stop back at the house on the way to get something but when we got some amazing photos instead. Earlier while we were on our way to the park we noticed an interesting mural and Keira managed to convince the two that we should stop by for a quick photo of it before returning to the reception. It was totally worth it!
The reception followed the same laid back full of love atompospher that their ceremony had. Karen and Linden had tequila shots as their seating chart. So of course for their grand entrance they did a shot together as the newly weds. Their guests were entertained with a candy bar, board games and a polaroid camera guest book. After dinner was served they had an open mic for their guests to give toasts, share stories or advice. Once a few things were said Nick from In the Mix DJ played their ballroom blitz song. This seems to be a new trend and I personally love it! It's one song where the bride and the groom has to go to each table and take a group photo. This is such a great way to make sure none of your guests are missed. Karen and Linden then faced off with a guest favourite, the show game. This led into their first dance. Karen had one last planned surprise for Linden a mother son dance. The dance floor was opened up for all and Karen did something that I haven't really seen at a wedding before but not only did she asked her guests to join them everyone listened and was up their celebrating the two of them, this was such an amazing way to finish off their night.
Kind words:
Daisy and Lily aka Amanda and Keria have been a dream to work with. As a camera shy person they made the experenice of being in front of the camera fun and the photos turned out beautiful.
