The Old Clayburn Village Church and School house was the perfect setting for Riley and Sam's steam punk themed wedding. With the stained glass windows and historical attributes to the venue ir really brough their vision to life. Riley got ready at a family friends home close to the venue. The energy was buzzing, they had returned from the salon after getting their hair done and Riley was stationed in the bathroom putting on her gorgeous make up. Her bridesmaids got dressed and their top hat fascinators matched their theme. Riley's mom helped her into her gown prepared with a crochet hook for all the buttons.

When we arrived at the church we took in all the tiny put together details in the decorations that Riley and Sam's mom had put together. There was so much time and love invested into the wedding. They had a violinist playing elegantly while their guests arrived. Their ceremony began by having their parents and grandparents be honoured in walking down the aisle as part of the processional, followed by their wedding party. When It was time for Riley to walk down the aisle with her Dad the church bell was chimed along with the serenading violin leaving me with goosebumps. Their ceremony was a Christian ceremony preformed by their family's minister. So many wise words about the sanctity of marriage were shared. Once they shared their personal vows the minter gifted them with their own personal family bible. The signed the registry and shared their first kiss as husband and wife. The bells chimed for a second time as they exited the church as husband and wife.

Even though it was October it was still a very hot and sunny day so we directed the family to a shady spot for the family portraits. During this time Keira managed to get stung by a wasp. Apparently she had never been stung before so luckily she was not allergic and was a total champ about pushing through the moment. We decided to utilize the uniqueness of Old Clayburn village for the rest of the portraits. I quite often drove through the village area over the past few years and noticed a tree next to the park and walkways wanted pose someone with it and Sam and Riley were the perfect couple for it! We also really wanted to take a moment inside the church with the colourful stained glass windows.

When we returned to the school house they entered into their reception leading with their first dance. They chose two songs to dance to. One was from The Corpse Bride which also happens to be Riley's favourite movie. Their reception space was equally decorated with hand made items as their ceremony space. There was so much thought and time put into their wedding. The decided to opt out for a traditional wedding meal and have a wonderful giant charcuterie spread. While their guests filled up on delicious meats, cheeses, and sandwiches the speeches were shared. Riley's Dad shared excerpts from Riley's childhood journal along with sentimental stories. Meanwhile Sam's best man brought back a childhood friend for him.. His beloved lamb lamb. They cut into their exquisite cake that was a challenge because it was so beautiful!!
